I think that supernodes are designated based on computer power (I have an AMD X2 something and a gig of ram) and connection speed (over 9000 KBPS). If you are hosting alot of files, say, 3,881, how can you tell if you're a supernode? Are there any perks to super-node-dom? How do I prevent supernodification if I don't want to be one?

To check whether you're an ultrapeer, click on LW's Connections tab...you'll see your connection status in the top left corner. Either leaf or ultrapeer.
If you don't see a Connections tab, click on View > Show/Hide > tick 'Connections'.

If you have a fast connection & aren't firewalled, you'll connect as an ultrapeer if the network needs UPs. Connected as an UP, you may see better search results but you may also see fewer uploads.

In LW tools > options > advanced > performance. You can tick 'disable ultrapeer capabilities' > apply > ok...now you won't ever connect as an UP.
