avi. file shows as empty in media player I tried to play avi. file in media player 11. it shows in my LW library as fine but trying to play it it shows as 0.00 length. However it does plays the sound. I'm new btw, & know almost nothing bout puters! :o |
Sounds like a codec issue; see CODECs list for Movies/Audio/ Alternate players / Video help forums/ video-mp3 fixers |
Thanks for reply. I assumed it was a problem with codecs, so I dl'd codec pack for Xp. Didn't help. Also media player stated 'Acquired codec'. Is it still a codec prob if I only want to play a basic avi. file? |
ZIP = a packed file It needs to be unpacked using a program like WinZip or WinRar or Stuffit or a multitude of others. :) Oh if you unpacked it and still showing an error ... then yes a codec problem. We usually recommend using this player instead: VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) which has in-built codecs. :) |
What operating system are you Using? WMP 11 is for Vista but can be used so so on XP. |
