Hi, new member here, with a question...(moving music) I am trying to figure out how to pull music from other programs (BearShare, for example) to my LimeWire library, so that I can then delete BearShare. I have tried copy-and paste, copying songs to desktop, then dragging and dropping them into ZLimeWire saved file, but nothing seems to work. I have some songs that I don't want to lose, but I REALLY want to get rid of BearShare now that I have grown comfortable with LimeWire. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Lloyd |

Hii and welcome ! ? 1... Are you talking about trying to move 'partial' (incomplete) downloaded files, or.. Simply wishing to copy and/or move existing completed downloads ? (Copy and then Paste is NOT the correct procedure.) ? 2... What Operating System are you using ? Don't panic... This is going to be an easy one for you !

at the risk of being a pain in the aXX, I am new to VISTA, and can't even FIND Windows Explorer. I klnow it's a lot to ask, but could you provide step-by-step instructions? Once I have them all in one folder, will LimeWire still find them, or will I have to use Windows Media Player or some other program? Thanks in advance, Lloyd |

Well... (btw... NEVER start a sentence with, "Well,..." !) 1st, my every condolence for your sentence with Vista... Don't worry, parole is available... It's not for life ! 'Explorer' is just the thing you use to drive around inside Windows... NOT Internet Explorer... That's different. When you double-click (if you have Desktop Icons showing on your screen) on My Computer or My Documents you will be using Windows Explorer to 'navigate' around your folders and files... Best thing to do (no offense) is to STOP internet activity for a while... This will be safer for you... Learning how to 'drive' your Windows Operating System NOW will save you years of pain later ! Another btw... Probably best for you to post general questions in the Tips & Tricks Forum here in these Gnutella Forums... You'll get a bit more attention and it will be from all the various 'p2p client' users... Not only the LimeWire folks ! As far as listening/viewing is concerned, FORGET LimeWire's so-called built-in player... In fact, forget ALL built-in players in ALL p2p client programs !!! They're ... er... garbage. Use Windows Media Player or WinAmp or numerous others... And, read here, in Tips & Tricks, about CODECs and other amusing things you need to know ! ¡ luego ! |

Thanks for the help.... so, if I understand you correctly, i should only use Limewire for downloading music, not for playing it? Use windows media player instead? another problem has crept up today---every few minutes a new web site pops up in a new tab---all are advertizing and nothing I'm interested in; how is tis happening and how can I stop it???? Thanks, Lloyd |

Or, WinAMP - the free version is more than enough ! Quote:
Popups are fairly easy to deal with... Many programs available out there but the Popup Blocker that comes with the GOOGLE TOOLBAR is amazingly effective. For virus and intrusion protection the 'current' best seems to be a program called Nod32... It is very good. You can try a free scan AND removal process by clicking here > Free Virus Scan: Use ESET's Online Antivirus Scanner It is safe and powerful. Be prepared for probably at least a 30 minute run unless your computer has an small number of files to scan. Nod32 removes viruses, 'spyware', dialers, malicious cookies... The works. They also offer a limited trial of the full version.
