Canadian proposed copyright law puts squeeze on downloads Has anyone else been following this new proposed copyright law in Canada regarding file sharing? Check this link and let me know what you think of this.
Will this have any impact on downloading music or will this be next to impossible to enforce? Just reading the article infuriates me to no end!
Here is an excerpt;
The proposed amendments include: - New exceptions that will allow Canadian consumers to legally record television shows for later viewing and copy legally acquired music onto other devices, such as iPods or cellphones
- An explicit ban on peer-to-peer file sharing
- New exceptions for some educational and research purposes
- New rights and protections for those who create content
