I've had it!!! (one day LW works fine the next it won't)

Why the hell do I keep sporadically getting the "Limewire is connecting to the network....." crap when I do a search?? One day it works fine, the next day doesn't work at all.........frustrating the hell out of me!!!!

By the way.....

I have Windows XP, tons of hard-drive space, cable modem via Warner Cable (Road Runner), anything else??

It almost sounds like your ISP may be the culprit.
Has this been happening for awhile or has it just started??
Have you recently updated LW??
You could always try Phex...In my Sig...Try it you'll like it. :)

I had this same issue a while back.....uninstalled....reinstalled.....took a break for a while.......reinstalled......then it was good for quite a while until this past Friday night, then worked again yesterday, now today not working again......there's just no rhyme or reason to it..........ugh......

Forgot to mention

I do have version 4.18.3 .....

Remoc July 27th, 2008 09:37 AM

I Don't and will Not use LW any longer for reasons that you are experiancing. The Later versions are nothing but Trouble.
I will suggest you use an older version that has proved to be the most stable versions ever. 4.12.6. or 4.12.3

OldVersion - Newer isn't always better !

Or as I said above, try Phex.

And again as I said above, Call RR and see if they will give you any Info on possibly Throttling or Capping Bandwidth.

Thank You!

Thanks a bunch! I followed your link and installed the older version and it worked right away. I appreciate the help!!
