not gettin caught at college (rules are pretty tight on downloading stuff illegally) hey i am a college student and rules are pretty tight on downloading stuff illegally, in fact there have been some people already caught and persecuted like they did something really bad(by the way people here get robbed alot). so in short i was wondering if there was an easy surefire way of getting my favorite media through limewire, whether it is torrent or p2p, without getting caught. thanks in advance for any help. |

the RIAA likes to use scare tactics to try to stop file sharing by college kids, but thats all they are. they will try to make an example out of people they find but limewire is so widely used worrying about it is like not going swiming in the ocean because you might be bit by a shark. |

thanks but.... thank you for your reply but i am still pretty nervous about using limewire because over 100 students were caught last year on the network and even though thos odds are pretty good (100 out of like 30,000) i would still like to find a surefire way to not get caught. the year has just started and 3 people have already been caught so if there are any ways to lower the odds of getting caught that would help. |

surefire? trade CDs with your friends, rip your tracks, and give them back....

It's worth it to secure your connection with a service like edited. Or any other provider that is overseas and doesn't keep logs. Frankly, if you find their service fee too expensive you really shouldn't be downloading files at all. Settlements with the RIAA are expensive.
