Some of the Title headings on Limewire changed to an unrecognizable language for no reason. I tried to change language back to English but even the description beside the US flag is in some other language. I deleted & downloaded again but at first startup attempt the language is messed up and I cannot change. It seems to just be on this machine which is running Vista as I can load the very same limewire file on my other computer with no issues. HELP!!!

Of course if the language is set to another language, then those languages in the language menu will show that particular language's version of the language. Just choose the Flag that represents your language. View menu or 'usually' the 2nd menu from the left side of LW program (first menu is usually File menu.) Then choose the drop down menu for the flag of choice.

I have the same problem but it seems to persist.
When i install it i choose "french", it won't install in french and even if i go in the program and choose the "change language" and put it in french it won't be in french, the inscriptions are in a language that i don't even know what it is, so what's the problem (

Did you install english version Java or french? I'm not sure that would make any difference since the differences are probably only in the install instructions.

After changing Language in LW, you must restart LW. Close the LW program & re-open. Make sure you are opening the LW program & not continually opening the installer instead by mistake. ie: Start menu -> All Programs -> LimeWire -> LW.

Oh ... you 'might' need to have french fonts, etc. installed on your computer system also.

See, when i install i choose FRENCH, and then i go back in the program to change AGAIN to put it in french but IT DOES'NT WORK, it's alwals in this bizarre language
I've had LW for a long long time in my pc, and never had probel, but recentyl i han trojan problems that i think came from LW, the only way i found at that time to have LW in french was to make a system restauration, but since 2 weeks it came back, my LW won't be in french. My boyfriend has LW in his computer but his is okay, no problem, so that's why is say that maybe there still is something left from the trojan in my computer....
I i could show you an image of my LW so that you could understand what i mean, maybe somebody would be able to help me.
You see, i can't download anything cause it's never written in french even if i choose the french language, and even if the canada's fly is in the left down corner of LW
And i can even tell you, that after i flushed LW and all of it's component from my computer, i went directyl to LW site to download it again and it's not better, so i really don't know what's going on, and what to do...

Have you tried the french flag one?

I think perhaps best thing to do then is delete the LW preferences folder.
Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

Well thank you for your help, i tried that too and still did'nt work, so i flushed LW again for the i don't know how many times, and went back on the LW site to get it again, i download the program, and after that clik on "open the folder" to analyse it with my anti-virus, but i saw that it did'nt go to the good place, buttt good thing i saw something that i had, that was called "Stubinstaller" i don't know where or how i got that but i flushed it right away, close my pc and reopened it, went back to get LW from the official site, and yessssssssss finally i have it allllll in french, even the flags oufffff it's about time

So thanks again for trying to help me, maybe that thing was the only problem, i'll go right now to try LW to see if it works okay
