Hello everyone, My name is Justin. I'm needing some help and hoping this is the place. The windows on my computer was recently changed and my limewire library was wiped out. I have several questions.

1) Is there a way to pull my library from limewire with something like this happening?

2) How do I get a hold of Support? I sent them emails and/or messages but never heard anything back.

3) I bought the one time limewire upgrade. And its night and day compared to the downloading on what I have now. How do I get that back? Do I have to pay again?

4) Is there a member on this forum that is Support for Limewire? If so who are they and how can I contact them.

Hi I'm new here, and I paid for a limewire subscription then discovered I had to pay an additional 15 or so per month to download, and I still don't have unlimited downloads...only 50/month. Did I do something wrong or should I try to get my money back and pay another business 30 for a one time fee to have unlimited downloads.....what am I missing??

1) Are you sure that your saved folder was deleted? If you backed up files before installing the new Windows (I guess you installed a new version of Windows & so would've backed up your old files)? Check out this thread for info about where your saved folder might be, depending on what version of LW you were running: If you've updated LW and can't find your downloads

To access Pro support, you need to have current Pro privileges (see point 3).

3) Did you buy the Pro for a single payment of $13.95 (no updates & no support) or 6 month Pro ($21.95, 6 months of email support & free updates) or 12 month Pro ($34.95, 12 months of email support & free updates)?? All of those are a one time payment, so it's a bit hard to guess what you bought! If you didn't buy from the official site then you can't get free support or Pro downloads from the official site. If you did buy from the official site, your Pro privileges need to be current to get support - if you bought 6 months worth of Pro then you only get support for 6 months. Same deal for 12 months of Pro. So if your Pro is still within the timeframe, you can either go to your personal download link (if you backed it up & saved it) or go to this link & enter the email adress that you used to buy Pro: Lime Wire » LimeWire PRO Lookup

4) There is one LW employee who rarely drops into the forum but he only handles Pro billing enquiries. The helpers here are volunteers who don't work for LW.

Sorry to say, but you were scammed. LW basic is free. LW Pro costs & official site are detailed in point 3 above. There is no minimum/maximum number of downloads per month & once you've bought LW Pro from the official site, that's it - nothing more to pay. There is no lifetime subscription. Who did you pay for LW & how much did you pay?

Contact your bank/CC company. Depending on when you paid, they may still be able to stop the transaction from going through & will be able to let you know whether you should cancel your card

so, I only did business through limewire.com, and I have paid for 34.95 for Limewire pro I guess. But then it seems like the site then offered me three options for monthly downloads. One for about 30 one for 50 and one for 70 or something like that , so I did the middle of the road thing. What do you think that was referring to? I've got the confirmation for the LPro... how would I have been pushed to another site do you think??

okay Birdy, here's what I have on my cc statement.
there's a LWL* Lime Wire LLC charge for $34.95 (I assume that's for the Pro pkg)
and there is a bill for www.store.limewire.com got $14.99 and at their site I have 50 "credits"...is that for purchasing songs online? Like I get 50 for $15/month? Or is the store which is linked to limewire.com not part of limewire actually, and I've been scammed out of 15 dollars and need to report it to someone???

Ahh ok - I didn't realise that you'd gone through the LW store Sorry if I alarmed you, heaps of people get scammed into paying for all kinds of bogus things.

The LW store lets you download certain artists that have signed up with LW & allowed their songs to be legally downloaded for a fee. You don't have to sign up with the LW store to download music - you can download whatever you want through the LW program... it's just that LW store downloads are paid for whereas other files downloaded from LW might breach copyright laws.

It all depends on how much the legality concerns you! If you want to use the LW store continuously then I guess you'll have to keep paying (I've never used the store so I really am not sure). If you want to download files from the Gnutella network (where other users share files for you to download & you let other people download files from you) then just use LW's search option

I just dowlnlaoded VLC to my new Limewire Pto and was told to download a VLC player. DOES ANYBODY KNOW OF AN MP$ VIDEO PLAYER THAT LIMEWIRE PRO 4,18 won;t prevent me from playing MP4 files. Most of the movies r MP4now. Good ;luvck tpoth of us.

VLC can play mp4 audio & video files. Some video mp4 files are mpeg 4, some H.264. Check Movie download issues (click on blue link) for more information.

Be aware some mp4 audio files are licenced via DRM, thus only the original purchaser can play them. O.o

I looked for the saved files and there is nothing there. The stupid computer guy who changed my computer to new windows apparently didn't save anything. I guess I can be blamed for this as well> Although I am not good on the computer. So i guess my entire library is wiped out. There's no way I can start over and get back what I had.

I purchased a one time purchase. Don't remember how much or what it was, but it speeded up the download process. It takes way too long now. I guess if i Have to pay for this again, I will. Double whammied.
