Tagging folders & files

Hi - am a recent Limewire user - windows XP - I am sharing 10Gb of files which are organised into folders but no-one will access as they are not tagged. I cannot find anywhere that tells me how to apply tags to folders. I have far too many files to do one by one - is there a way of tagging folders to help people find what they are looking for?
