Limewire is one of many peer-to-peer file-sharing programs that allow you to share files with other users who are connected to the Gnutella network; it is not a service, nor is it a site.
Downloading, from virtually anywhere, is in itself a risky business. There are things that one can do to minimize the risks, such as using LW's link to Bitzi, and following other tips offered here. It's like driving a car. Sure, thousands are killed each year in collisions, but we find it worth the risk, and try to maintain good driving habits.
There is no difference in security features between the Basic and Pro versions of LW. |
