I cannot understand why you would take a programme that was simple and efficient to use, and replace it with this nightmare. I absolutely loathe Limewire Pro 5. There are so many things wrong with it.

All I want to know is how do I restore my old Pro version.

Easy, Start menu -> All Programs -> LW -> Uninstall. Then go to your LW Pro download page, click on the older versions link to the left & you should see a windows option for 4.18. However, this page has not yet been updated for Pro users. May need to wait until next week.

Have they put the old Limewire Pro up yet. I still cannot find it.

Its a lot faster and easier but yea I agree its to to understand they could have made easier to understand tabs, menus, features maybe they will address some of this in the next few updates.


Also theres no way to view what you are uploading just downloading.

Right-click an uploading file & choose Play. That ability was not in LW 4.

Likewise downloads, right-click & choose Preview.

I too am having issues with LW5, I don't have a genre option anymore and my sharing folders won't show up anymore, only the new songs I have downloaded.
I used to share upwards of 1,000 songs now Im at 90.
It also wont download directly to a folder I am working on so I have to search through all 90 to find the new song and then transfer to folder, yuck, tis taking too long
