The newest Limewire 5 - way too user UNfriendly! The instructions users are given for the new Limewire 5 are for Limewire 4.16, and show screenshots for that, previous version! As such, they are useless for the radically re-created Limewire 5. Re Limewire 5: 1. Where is the "Download As" option, along with the "Download" option, so the user can rename any file BEFORE downloading it, if they choose? 2. Where is the easy way to "select", "add" or "ignore" folders on my PC's hard drive, including Limewire's "Saved" and "Store Purchased" folders? Previous versions made it so easy to select those folders the user wanted to have added to the Limewire library, or not. Restore the simplicity of this feature/function. In other words, where are new, revised, simple instructions as to how to make Limewire ignore any folders the user does NOT want Limewire to pull tracks, video, photos, etc., from to populate its library? 3. Re-install the upper/lower pane search results/currenly downloading window, rather than having to switch between the search results window and the "downloading" window. You can't completely re-create the Limewire interface, options, and tools in version 5, and then supply instructions showing how to use version 4.16 - they're are apples and oranges! Please provide updated instructions/FAQs/etc., specifically for new version 5. Thank you, we await your reply. |

1. Option removed. 2. Right-click folder listings in either p2p or Library window. Else just manually remove the files. In LW's preferences, you can stop LW searching particular folders for sharing. Remove them from there. Remove the files manually as described. 3. Two view options for downloads. Click option top-right of screen. Who supply FAQ's? Us or LimeWire Support? This is a forum where non-LW staff help out for free. We are simply experienced LW users. The program is new to us too. It's only just been released, it's a beta version. We are ourselves still getting acquainted with it. We are also not super happy certain functions have been removed. |

Gnutella needs to stop "fixing" Limewire when it's not broken! Thank you for the replies to my "issues" with the new Limewire 5 (free version). Had I known how dramatically Limewire had been screwed around with, I would have kept version 4.18.8 that was already on my PC. Why do they remove user-friendly options, which help to make Limewire as versatile as possible, such as the "Download As" option, and more option choices within their "Options" drop-down "tree" menu? Gnutella needs to stop fixing things that are not broken. |

You can still get LW 4.18, see sample image from this link: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/window...lw-4-18-a.html Yes those are LW specific changes, not wholesale Gnutella network changes. There's been a number of people not happy with the changes. I greatly suspect customer peer pressure will 'eventually' force them to revert many more things back to LW 4.18's style of operation, at least with having the choice of using those options. |
