Where did you buy LW from? Who's the vendor on your CC statement? The only official site for downloading LW Pro or basic is Lime Wire » Download LimeWire Pro costs US$ 24.95 (~AU$38.86) for 6 months of updates & email support, $US$34.95 (~AU$54.40) for 12 months of updates & support & sometimes there's a special offer of Pro for US$13.95 (~AU$21.72) with no updates or support included. If you paid AU$34.95 then I'm curious about where you bought LW & what subscription term was offered with that. If you bought from the official LW site, you would've recieved an email from LW with a link to your Pro personal download page...where you can download Pro while your benefits are current. If you still have your old computer (I'm guessing you bought a new computer rather than updating your OS?), check your emails & see whether you can find that one from LW. |

Am trying to rerinstall LimeWire Pro after re-formatting. LimeWire keeps telling me that my Email is incorrect (which it isn't) and I can't get past this point. Paid for Lifetime Unrestricted Access on 16/1/09 so feeling fairly p,,,,,, off with the whole thing. Anybody help? Many thanks |

Sorry Birdy - didn't mean to shout!! I bought the program on 16/1/2009 through Clickbank and it seems that the vendor agent was thememberarea.com. I purchased an Unrestricted Lifetime Access to LimeWire Pro for AUD54.65 (equiv to US$34.95 on that date). I was issued a Username 4399090 and Password XXX533. The ClickBank Order No was SZEJNQBQ and I paid through PayPal. All this info held by me in the form of their reply. I know that my benefits are still current but have not received any message from LimeWire Direct to this ourchase. Would greatly appreciate help. Do not wish to pay AUD54.65 again! Many thanks, Birdy. Kind regards - Bruce Avent |

Sorry to say but you were scammed. The official site doesn't use Clickbank... thememberarea is a scam (click on the links below for more info). http://www.gnutellaforums.com/gettin...ite-email.html Rip-off Report: Clickbank,Thememberarea When 'googling' to download music from 'limewire', clickbank intervended with a bogus 'update limewire' site and 'charged' me for 'limewire''s FREE service ...clickbank just plain STOLE money from my account . ClickBank.com Complaints - Online fraud You need to contact your bank/CC company & report this as soon as possible - they may be able to help you & they'll tell you if you should cancel your card. Don't feel too bad, heaps of people get scammed every day. At least you've found out early. The reason that your email address wasn't being recognised by the LW site was because you never paid for an official version of LW. Only people who buy from the official site have their email addys added to LW's database, so that they can download updates in future. Scammers are pond scum. The links below have a bit more info, but best bet is to get straight onto your bank/CC company Membership? - **BEWARE** - Download p2p Clients ONLY Thru Official Sites (click on link) get your $$$ BACK!!!
