![]() Since converting to limewire 5.1.2, my searches, particularly in the video category are yielding only junk files, and almost never yield any files related to the search target. For example, if I do a search for "*****" to get episode files, most of what is yielded is porn or Ave Extreme Video files. Using limewire used to be very productive for downloading and sharing files, but since I started using the new version, I feel like I'm just wasting my time. Is there something I'm missing? I even bought the Pro edition, thinking it would help, but it only multiplies the problem now that I've got two more Ultrapeers. ![]() __________________________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules. ![]() Check out the tips here for eliminating porn from results: Direct instructions to eliminate porn from results You could also try using the Hostiles List Have you tried using the Advanced Search? Click on the category button (next to the Search button) & you'll see a link to Advanced Search at the bottom of the menu. From there you can refine your searches a bit. You can also try removing the ultrapeers that you're connected to. If you're seeing heaps of spam, maybe you're connecting to bad UPs. Tools > Advanced Tools & from there you can right click on an UP > remove. And a couple more links that might help... ![]() Birdy, Thanks for the response. Actually, I found most of those suggestions in the forums, and they did seem to help, though I couldn't completely eliminate the spam. 'cest le vie. As for the hostiles file, since Windows Vista handles program settings differently, i.e. no Documents and Settings folder, I placed hostiles in /<username>/AppData/Roaming/Limewire instead. That seems to have helped. It's good to know that there are some knowledgable people in this forum, since many of these problems do not have intuitive solutions. Thanks again. |
