each download gives a licensing request Hello everyone, I am new and just learning to use this forum & LW. My 1st question is, each time i download a song i keep getting a window about sending me:confused: to a website for licensing permission. What gives? Iam really confused. |
1. Firstly, need to check option not to show such. License requirement (click on link), posts #3 & particularly #4. 2. There is a license column you can show in search results. If you see any file with a license icon in that column, do not download it. 3. If you open a video or audio file by launching it & it sends you to a site, the file is probably a spammed file & not a real audio or video file. Often such sites they send you to are either to pretend to download a codec which is in fact a virus or to get your identity, or to try to sell you something, or a combination of these things. I'd recommend VLC for previewing both audio & video files since it will rarely if ever auto-send you to a site. And if VLC cannot play the file, then the file is most likely a dud fake spammed file. VLC - (click on link) _ (choose nearest mirror site) & if you don't know how, see Setting Default video app, same principle applies to audio files. Disable LW's media player for playing audio files. |
