i know a bit about computers and cd's but when i make cd's on nero on audio cd's, they play in my car once but then never again, i bought n dubz album a feww weeks back and that works everytime what am i doing wrong, im even burning it at 8x please help

Do the discs that you've burned play in other CD players without a problem?

Have you tried any other burning software? I haven't had problems with Nero, but if you have other burning software installed, it might be worth burning a CD & seeing whether the same problem exists.

Are you using CD-R or CD-RW discs? Try using CD-R.

Try using a different brand of CD, sometimes certain players don't seem to like some brands of CD.

Like Birdy, I would suggest you use only name brand CD/R disks, not CD/RW ones.

As for NERO, I have never had any problems using it to make music CDs, and I have used those CDs on a number of different players.

Your problem is likely to be linked to the type or brand of CDs you are using to make your audio CDs.

thanks for thhe reply guys, yeh im using cd-r ones, tesco infact i wundered if thats maybe why im havin problems, it works all other cd players, just accept my car, i have tried burning it on nero at a slower speed but still no change, but i dont think theres something wrong with the car player coz it plays cd's bought from shops

Sounds like CD brand perhaps. Different brands of CD-R have different qualities; different reflectivity levels that the CD laser can read, different inks/dyes, different chemical coatings, etc.

I have just read something that may apply to you, is it possible that the heat from your car engine could be getting into your car CD player. This heat and subsequent cooling could destroy your homemade CDs.

As you know, commercial CDs are made by using lasers, i.e. burning pits into an aluminium master, which is then used to make (stamp-out) commercial CDs. While homemade domestic CDs are made by heating a special dye. I'm guessing that the heating and cooling process could (and would) disrupt the dye patterns that you created when you recorded your audio CDs.

If I am right then your only solution is to re-site, if possible, where your CD player is installed your car.

Bob, thanks very much for the reply and thanks to you all with your feedback, that would deffintaly make sense, i will have to have a good look at it, and may have to take it to garage if i cant sort the problem, would loose cables warm it up stop it from workin? or wudnt it work it at all, coz the owner before did a really bad job of wiring it.

what I find intriguing is that they CDs play in the car once..then don't again...this of course would have nothing to do with the burning program....
