making back ups

hi , i'm hopeing someone can help me. i want to reformate my hard drive and reinstall windows 98se. i am useing lime wire 2.3.1 and iwould like to back up the mp3s i have dowmloaded. i want to back them up on my cd- rw but it won't allow me. does anyone know a way i can do this? thanks in advance , TONY
