Clean Xolox 2.0.53.229 (GnucDNA 1.0.2.6) Download!

Xolox is pronounced "Zo-lox",and the commpany behind it was Xolox B.V. Xolox 2.0.53.229 (GnucDNA 1.0.2.6) is a GnucDNA based P2P application...It's now discontiniued, and not developt enny more...In fact Xolox 2.0 can not be downloaded from the internet as before, because they used only smart installers for all Xolox 2.0 versions and up!A smart installer is a small installer pack which download the files from a server and intall it on the users computer...Now the server is gone and the smart installer does not work enny more!Xolox 2.0 is a Morpheus 4.0 clone, after all it's build from the Morpheus 4.0 source code...The web site (http://www.xolox.nl) is gone as well,but i know they tryed to sell it with the Domain!I was able to make this Xolox 2.0 installer from the main XoloxEXE and two Morpheus builds...I give no warranty how it will work for you, it's a kind of "as is" release from me...I still find it use full, and i sure did miss it!I put this out for download because of two reasons...1 For those who once up a time did like it...2 For those who never did have a chance to try it out...I would not say it's good or bad P2P apps, but it still get the job done!The old MLdonkey core is removed and replaced with a newer one...Because of it was old and out dated as it can be...Xolox can still be used for Gnutella/G2/ NeoNet and Edonkey hopfully...you like to try it, please feel free to do so!

Also curious why it's called 4shared Desktop & not Xolox. Edit: Nevermind I downloaded the wrong stupid thing. lol

Lacking C++ .. perhaps if I installed MS Office with C++ extras it might work. I don't have MS Office for windows.

Well that could be the case yes...But try to re download it because i have updated it with adding back the MLdonkey core...Had to much issue with out so fare....The eDonkey network did connect after all, but you will not be able to download enny thing from the eDonkey network...MLdonkey core is to old yes, but it wil prevent Xolox from crashing on re Hashing and so on!If that does not help, try to add Netframework 2.0 or higher and also C++ runtime library 2005 or newer...I also recomend use Internet Explorer 8.0 seems work best for Xolox at the present moment!But please do remember i made it from pices i had, because i did not have complet all the files needed for Xolox...So this could make it littel bitt unstable!

I uninstalled Xolox, installed both of above, rebooted .. still same error message.

It works fine for me. It gets connected pretty fast and I get decent search results.

I need to play with it some more, but so far so good.

Well it could be some problem with your runtime enviroment on your pc, and not the Xolox...I think you should uninstall Xolox and remove all the files you can find even in your registry...No install the last one i uploaded, when the installer com to it's end se how it did get installed before you click on Close...You can se all the files it did install and se after GnucDNA.dll get registred...If not it could be the problem....Els it could be your pc have a issue, and i know GnucDNA clients are verry sensitive for system issue so to speak!
