Error can't find... while loading shared libraries: libkdecore.so.4 Hi, I just compiled qtella .53 and I get this error. I don't seem to be able to figure is outl. I compiled kde3 and qt-3.04 into ./configure. qtella: error while loading shared libraries: libkdecore.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory |
Procedure's always the same... 1) Check if you have the library... and whether it's linked properly. ldconfig -p|grep libkdecore If it's a link...see where it goes. 2) If you have the library, and there's libkdecore.so.4 link pointing to it, then there must be a problem with the configure script. See configure.log or whatever... 3) If you have the library, but the link's wrong, make a link called libkdecore.so.4 pointing to the kdecore library, place in in a library path and run ldconfig. 4) If you don't have the library, go get it. I use RedHat. It's in the kdelibs rpm. Other distros - don't know. You could compile a tarball. ph-0101 |
I have the same problem except its libkdecore.so.3 instead of 4, and it says access denied. It runs great as root, but when I login as user, thats the error i get. I have given my user account rights to the qtella folder. Am I missing something? |
