PLEASE, Members, try to keep your computers connected at Night!!!
 

It would be wonderful if alot of members started leaving their computers on at night so we could all download things while we sleep. It is sad to see all the files "Searching" for a source when we could all be SHARING and reaping the benefits of this AWESOME software.

I usually do when I am asleep or away.

Thank you for those of you who keep your computers on while sleeping and those, like myself that seem to hardly ever sleep.

I do understand that this community is Global, which is all the more reason for everyone to try to leave your computer on while sleeping, where ever in the world you are.

More computers connected = FASTER DOWNLOAD TIMES!!!! :-)

I do have one questions for you Gurus... When we do a search for something, are the results only from computers connected at the time of the search, or does Xolox keep a record of what files are on all members computers? I ask because I have done searches, clicked to download files but it showed that none were connected and searched for a few days before starting to download.

The search result are from the computers you can "reach". You can only "see" a small part of the net, because the clients have limited the search requests... without this limit there would be to much search traffic.

Gnutella has no central server where such information could be saved.
