Default Advertizing Popups in 1.21 build 241

I am not so ignorant that I can't see why a free program like this would need "extra funding". However, I don't agree with the popup banners in version 1.21 build 241. They aren't even explorer windows that can be blocked by a popup killer.

yea i don't much care for them either Dillyman.... i hear you.

There are clients that do pop-up a few one you on launch.. luckily only 1 is launched with xolox in the first mins you use it.

My question to you Dillyman and anyone reading this thread is, would it be better if there *has* to be popunders to support development.. if it launched in a search window within XoloX like any other webpage does you click on within xolox?

I personally would find that much less annoying but hey... thats just me. If it didnt focus on it when launched.. but went into a search tab *within* xolox.

I agree with Kaya. It would be much nicer if those popups were cought by Xolox's browser.

I also agree. The pop up is annoying but far better than spywear and crap. If there was a way to stop it I would be in favor of it.

Simple Logic

The popups go away or me the user goes away and finds another P2P client to use.

DO NOT ABUSE MY TRUST BY MAKING ANY SOFTWARE DO ANYTHING MORE THAN WHAT IT SAYS IT WILL DO

YOU GET ONE SHOT ON THE INTERNET

There's always someone else offering me another choice out there. Show me I can't trust software from vendor X and I don't use vendor X's products ever again.

Go right ahead.

I don't think anyone really cares wheather or not you are using Xolox. Especially with your attitude. If you don't like ads that much than write your own Gnutella servant.

Making them search windows is nice, BUT, please don't make the program jump to the foreground if it's not when this happens, and please don't switch from whatever view I'm currently using to display the new ad.

I have to admit that the fact that there are ads in a seperate window is many times more annoying that an ad banner, but it has to be done to support Xolox and keep it free of spyware.
