Question Xolox and Win 95

Hi Team,

Can seem to get Xolox to stay alive. It installs fine but as soon as I download, I get the blue screen of death and require a hard reboot to reset my machine. I'm running Win 95 and 56K modem.

Note that I was using Win MX 2.6 previously, and it was working OK (however this no longer functions, since mid September).

Appreciate any good ideas.

Thanks,

Pepe

Xolox does have problems, but Wi*** is likely to be the bigger problem. Wi*** has always been known for its instability and its interesting ability to only crash sometimes when certian things sometimes happen. (vagueness on purpose) At the bottom line, Wi*** is too unstable to run a program that is not perfect and flawless. I am sure many programs work fine, but I would not be supprized if another machine with Wi*** doesn't normally crash. Not to be rude or anything, but you may want to consider upgrading. Microsoft has offically ended support for Wi***, and many new programs can not run of it at all. It would be nice it Xolox would run properly all the time, but Xolox is still a work in prograss.

Default Thanks

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm just too much of an el cheapo to spend the $$ to upgrade. I essentially use my PC to download stuff. Not sure if I want to spend $500 yet.

Mind you, if anyone listening knows of some p2p that works on win 95, I'd appreciate a note.

I'll keep my eye on Xolox too...

Regards,

Pepe

I would just try a few different ones. These forums have most of the mainstream gnutell servents, try checking them out.
