Red face What's the deal with Xolox?

What's up with Xolox?

I set my upload for max and everyone is downloading from me at over 100 kps and I have to wait days just to get someone to upload to me at like .9 lps. That's just not right

That's my rant for the day!

When you download something popular from another gnutella servant who has low bandwidth (i.e. modem user) and several other people are downloading it (or something else) from him also, you will all have to share what little bandwidth he has.

What is he supposed to do? Magically conjure up bandwidth? That would be a neat trick...

Uhm... you might not be aware of it, but in some countries it is pretty hard to get a high bandwidth connection. For example, here in germany you have to basically jump through a lot of hoops to just get a ADSL line. And even then its a crippled ADSL line (786 kbit download but only 128 kbit upload).

Cablemodems virtually don't exist here. The other feasible opportunities here are close to nothing. Unlesse, of course, you live in one of the large cities AND are willing to spend big bucks (and when I say "big bucks" I mean "BIIIIIIIIG BUCKS") for your line.

We're held at knife point here in germany, when it gets to information technology. Sorry to say so, but not everyone has a thousand providers to choose from who have to pamper your *** just to get you as a customer.
