ShareAza as Ultrapeer on Gnutella Network 1 Attachment(s) Whilst using Phex on 2012-11-22 (last month), I noticed a ShareAza host as an ultrapeer. I had no idea Shareaza had upgraded their gnutella (G1) abilities to be able to achieve this. If they are acting as ultrapeer for G1 & G2, it would potentially mean a heck of a lot of connections, particularly if they are torrenting at the same time. Attachment 6163 |
This must have been somebody who compiled Shareaza himself. The old UP code is still in there, only accessing it has been disabled. I think it would only take a few minutes to reenable the GUI access and uncomment the few lines of code necessary for Shareaza to handle (outdated) UP support anew... |
1 Attachment(s) Coincidentally I found another one, later version ShareAza. This time via BearShare. BTW do you know anything about SHAtella? Attachment 6283 |
Actually I've never heard of it. If it is indeed a mod, there hasn't been posted any information on the Shareaza forums so far. (Some few mods are announced in there.) |
