Default hops ????

just tried searching and despite there seemingly being a terrabyte of files visible all I got in the Hit Monitor window was a column of numbers ranging from 1 to 6 under the heading 'hops' and under the search results window the same colum plus another column made up of a line of '1I' (sort of)

any ideas what was happening ??

can't help you solve he 'hops' mystery vlad but if you install the latest version of shareaza you'll find the problem goes away and you get a pretty darn fine update - a bit like a more colourful limewire with some cute bells and whistles

cheers, bad_vlad

I can shed some light on the term hops... it generally refers to the number of routers you go through from the beginning to the end of a connection... if you have 4 routers between you and the destination you are said to have 4 hops. Generally the lower the hops the better , although it is possible to have better speed through a higher number of hops in the case where there is either a router performance issue or a connection issue between routers...
