Gnutella 1 servers for shareaza

Where could I find a list of G1 servers and add them to shareaza? I did it before but the thing is I can't find a list of servers anywhere!!

et voilą May 1st, 2005 08:07 AM

Hmm they are Gnutella Ultrapeers, not G1 servers. Look this thread: http://forums.shareaza.com/showthrea...threadid=37443

But you *should* not enable gnutella on Shareaza, its support is **** and it slows down the network.

Ciao

rfutty May 1st, 2005 08:21 AM

ahah okay, i just thought it would download files quicker cause I would be connected to 3 different networks. thanks

et voilą May 1st, 2005 08:29 AM

Actually it could speed up YOUR downloads, while it slows OUR downloads plus a net lost in overhead bandwidth that do not serve either downloads or uploads of either you or us because multi-networking has to substain a lot of connections. That's why Shareaza is such a problem, some people are selfish (Multi-network users) and the others (Gnutella users) pay because of that. That's the beautiful spirit behind the stupid idea of multi-network support  Shareaza is really meant to be used only with G2, some devs are just running after hype and popularity.

Shareaza + G2 = ok
Shareaza + G2 + another protocol =

rfutty May 1st, 2005 08:32 AM

well it doesnt actually do anything for me. cause the file downloads for like 10minutes then goes back to "active" and will try to continue and do the same thing heh

et voilą May 1st, 2005 08:33 AM

Disconnect from G2 a few seconds, connect to Gnutella then reenable G2.

rssfed23 July 23rd, 2005 09:30 AM

Why would you want to connect to G1 anyway;

The network is CRAP compared with G2 and eDonkey with less files and longer ques.

Just leave it connected to G2 only (if possable, as that will get you best results)

et voilą July 23rd, 2005 09:35 AM

hahaha another RAZA troll being! I wonder why that app and their forums create the biggest number of clueless trolls in the world relative to user base. It should be stated on their features page! Lol another guy to laugh at :p

jlh, crf and mikew of the RAZA forums: please do something about it, it just lowers by 10 the reputation of RAZA having so much trolls!

LongJohnSilver July 23rd, 2005 11:50 PM

Just like many people believe that the frogs should all be removed from this earth, hopefully by neucluar weapons

hahaha, well, hum.... no.

I forgot you Kath, do you know why that app is creating so much trolls? I mean look at Azureus and eMule, they have 10 times the number of downloads of RAZA, yet they don't troll. I think RAZA is an app that makes teenagers think they got the "truth" then they brag about it everywhere.

Anyway that's what I think IMHO. And I'll be there to take care of those "truths" :D

ultracross July 24th, 2005 06:30 AM

lol, i know a few people personally that think they know "the truth" and use raza.

et voilą July 24th, 2005 07:30 AM

I could do name dropping here of RAZA trolls I see posting on other forums such as slyck, zeropaid, p2pforums and the official RAZA forums, but I'm sure Kath knows them too ;) Point is that since RAZA arrived in 2002, I've never seen so much trolls.

[/me trying to stop "troll" for a day at least, I used the term too much today ;) ]

robdive123 July 24th, 2005 12:29 PM

So you would rather use a more buggy and overall worse network, than one with good sources and a good support network,

hmmm,

Im not saying that Shareaza is the best g1 client out there (for gods sake, it dosent even support ultrapeers), but as a g2 (and in the new betas) eDonkey, it performs well.

Its just that in other p2p programs (like limewire) their not ideal for the more "advanced" user, you can hardly configure anything,

But i use Shareaza, and have found it one of the best programs to use (once it is configured correctlly).

rssfed23 July 24th, 2005 12:32 PM

Also, you must be a bit stupid, going arround on Shareaza forums, and moaning about the program/people that use it, if you dont like the program, then dont use it, and stop insulting people that do use it, just because they can configure the program (thus) having a advantage over you, who probally still uses somthing like kazaa, who thinks hes king because of that

Yeah, and of course the bit-torrent is the bets network ever, what with all the sites being shut down and all.

And eMule is great....If you have about 2 years to spare waiting in a qeue for a file with 100 sources

et voilą July 24th, 2005 12:56 PM

Benny_Boy, robdive123, rssfed23, AKA the same guy with the same IP address that posts as guests to avoid being banned (troll), you just proved my point further, thanks :D

rssfed23 July 25th, 2005 02:03 PM

hmmmm,

how would that get me banned,

But just wondering:
What p2p program do you use, because its got to be the best thing that has ever happend to planet earth or your royal highness would not use it

et voilą July 25th, 2005 02:18 PM

Salut, in fact I would not ban someone who proves my points to everybody ;) You can register safetly, really. Kath would kill me if I ban you and you are much entertaining to me. My p2p clients? depends on what I want: I mostly use LW, eDonkey, Azureus, but also test: iMesh, Morpheus, Shareaza, Phex, eMule, Bittorrent, Gnucleus, Bearshare, DC++, and others ;) The only client I run 24/24 is a custom built LW, but I really know pretty much every P2P... So test me, hahahaha

Ciao ;)

That dosent make sense,
Arround where i live, the teenagers are dumbasses (my town was voted one of the most chaviests), most have no idea how to use the internet, let alone know what p2p is,

but you do get the odd coupple that think they are download gods because they found a program called kazaa (which they cant even speak right),

And they are certian that it is the best thing that has ever happened to them (except buying those new reebok clasics :) )

Kazaa is the worst program for this,

but i dont believe i am a troll, i just stand up for a program that i believe in (i also use many programs, like to try them all but mainly use shareaza).
Although i may only be 15 years old (that sweet age), but i do not go arround the town bragging about shareaza, that would create bad sharers (and leechers). but as said, my town (eastleigh, uk) is dumb, and i (although trying not to brag) know that i am one of the most IT enabled peepole out there,

My post wasent ment as an offence (although now i have read it it seems like it), i was in a very wierd mood (dont ask!!!),

Well i am open to new file shareing programs and networks, but i am deffinely not an troll,

Thanks for reading,
Rob,

(sorry for the typos, have a problem with hands and spelling)

et voilą July 26th, 2005 01:25 PM

Can you tell me your nick at the official Raza forums?

Merci

rssfed23 July 26th, 2005 02:34 PM

My Shareaza Forums username is; Robdive123

Am i right in presuming that you will do a search for all my posts and evaluate them (i dont mind this),
but as you will see, i do (try) to do my bit to help the overall G2 community (i.e, hosting g-web caches and connection tests)

rssfed23 July 26th, 2005 02:46 PM

Finally got round to registering now

et voilą July 26th, 2005 02:48 PM

No. I just had other names possible in my head. Helping G2 is cool, really. I myself helped to fix the G2 crawler. I just hate when people use Raza to connect to other networks than G2. As I should say: multinetwork apps are just plain big moron-ery. And those who defend that are either zealots, trolls or plain newbies.

Ciao

rssfed23 July 27th, 2005 12:55 AM

Thanks for helping to fix the crawler, it is quite an interesting site,

I also aggree a bit on that statement, Shareaza's impalemtation of G1 is not very good, and is known to somtimes cause damage to the network, i mainly stick to G2 (eDonkey has too long q's),

Thanks,
Rob
