hey there folks when i try to download an audio file off shareaza it takes forever to downlaod it goes at a 4kb transfer rate which is stupid as i have 2 mb broadband so the downlaod speeds must be faster than that so how do i make it faster????

i am running shareaza on a windows xp with sp2 with norton anti vrus 2005 with a 2 mb broadband connection

My suggeston is to use limewire, in my opinion limewire is pretty good! All you have to do is click on the link http://www.limewire.com and just sign up it is FREE

Well the best option is to set the search window to show files wit the host sources at the top, this way when you do a search you will download from the one with the most people.

It is hard to say why your downloads are slow without knowing what settings you have it set on. Shareaza is an advanced multi-network program that requires proper configuration to be effective, otherwise use LimeWire because its very simple and out-of-the-box effective.

The problem with Shareaza is far more serious if only people take notice. Shareaza used to work incredibly well all the time 24/7 until 6 months ago. Then bang, gnutella2 slowed down to 10th of the speed, then megaexplosion, only Edonkey connects nowadays.
Maybe Gnutella hates NTL as my ISP - this is my best qand only guess because I have tried everything - everything!

Shareaza does take weeks often to download a movie. The fastest was 3 days for some reason. It takes Shareaza hours to download a song and Limewire minutes. I have cable with an incredible speed so thats not an issue. I have read all the useless info on how to make Shareaza faster, with no avail. And yes, my firewall is setup correctly! Even with 2000+ users on a file I waited 1 month before finally deleting it.
