connection/download issues For some reason G2 won't connect, does anyone know of any problems? Second, I used to get screaming downloads but in the last day or so it has crawled to nothing, any suggestions? And before you ask, no, I have not changed anything on the pc. I read about clearing the cache, how do I do that? I am running Spybot, Avast, Zonealarm, and Adaware. I have been running them all for months with no problem so I doubt they are the problem. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Also does anyone know what happened to the shareaza forum and webpage? Both seem to be down/missing. Thanks Queenie |
Sorry, I meant G1, not G2 |
Sorry if you or anyone thinks I am being pedantic... I am NOT... There is no such thing as G1. There is such a thing as the Gnutella Network. So-called G2 is a Mike Stokes & Co. thing. For the rest... Only comment I will make for now is that if you are using Avast (hopefully the 'Pro' version) you should definitely not be running Zonealarm. (ZA should not even be installed on your machine.) Avast is certainly superior to ZA. Of course, for a serious fix to your p2p probs you can always try... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...sabotaged.html or Phex ;) |
well all I know is there is a G1 and G2 listed on the network page of shareaza. I have also been running ZA longer than I have been running avast and I have never had problems and I am using the free version of both. |
G1 is Shareaza 'terminology'. I also dislike the that, but I try to talk as much as possible about Gnutella and G2 (which I find better then Gnutella2, which I can treat as another name, like GravityTwo :p ) But don't confuse the users :) G1 isn't meant bad, it was just the 'first' Gnutella, and unfortunately, Mike has choose Gnutella2.... But don't make this a flamewar... There were enough before... Anyway, try the latest Shareaza at: Freebase |
