Comcast Is Filtering My Traffic I have been trying to get onto Shareaza for two weeks now, but have been unable to. I assumed that my ISP is blocking P2P URLs because they had announced that they had changed their mind and would no longer allow P2P traffic because of their large consumption of bandwidth when lots of users are on line. My ISP is Comcast. My question is: Can legal action be taken against Comcast for deciding which sites I can go to on the internet? |
If you're sure that it doesn't stand in the contract YOU signed, then you can, of course. There was some guy who sued Comcast, and the trial is still going on. Of course, Comcast has got a lot of money, so they can pay the best lawyers. You could try and give your best shot. |
I don't know if this will help in any way, but it's the only thing I could find. ;) Comcast modems and Routers - P2P Configuration |
I don't know I have comcast and I have been using shareaza for about a year, and haven't had a conn. problem.Check your config.as KathW suggests also try changing your port in tools settings.Good Luck |
Is there a way to tell if you are being blocked? I use another ISP but I believe they are blocking or throttling the P2P sites. My speeds start off fine but then dwindle to 0. I also tried the Shareaza port speed test but got the error that there was no response. That might be Shareaza but I don't know if it is on their side or mine. My firewall SEEMS to be configured but something is definitely wrong. Thanks, clj |
I am not only not able to get in with Shareaza, but also with any other P2P. |
