There is only one true and correct version of Shareaza, and it is only available from shareaza.sourceforge.net. The current version is 2.4.0.0. Shareaza is an open-source application, meaning that anyone can contribute new or experimental code in an effort to improve it. This also means that the code is available to anyone who wants to hack it, or create a corrupt version for whatever malicious purpose he or she has in mind.

Beware of any web site or organization not connected with sourceforge who claim to have an "improved version." They are trying to sucker you into downloading a fake version that will compromise your P2P security, and probably record -- for unsavory purposes -- every thing you do on the P2P networks!
