Default Persistent malware warning

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere, I can't find any mention.

When I try to install the new version(2.5.0.0),I get this error message;

Malware found C:\windows\system32\pxwma.dll

The warning advised me to remove it with an antivirus application.

I did a thorough start scan with Avast Pro. It found a couple of root kits, which I removed.

Warning still there.

Full scans with Spybot, Comodo AND Malwarebytes trying again between scans.. Nothing found. Warning remains

Clean install attempted having removed all traces of Sharaeza as per Shareaza clean install instructions. Warning remains.

Any advice would will be grate fully received.

PS; I had been having problems with the old version too.The connection settings wouldn't 'stick'; the box "allow UP device kept unchecking itself.

Sounds like File_Girl71's advice here applies http://www.gnutellaforums.com/host-c...tml#post347634. Now you can see why it was only Avast picking up the warnings; they were fake warnings.

Thanks guys

Sorry,I guess I explained myself poorly. It seems to be the installer which is picking up the, malware, it definitely not Avast, which has a graphic and loud warning system

@michwayne: I will try the link. Thank you for the welcome.

Yes ... avast is picking it up in the installer or the installation, either way Avast has an issue with p2p softwares. There may be a way of putting BS on the safe list of avast's safe lists for spyware, etc.
A number of security packages have adopted utilities that are not p2p friendly. I think that's the point File_Girl was making. BTW File_Girl is a programmer.

I suspect all Michwayne's link will do will confuse you. However if you find a fix then that's great.

The other option I can think of is you did not get Shareaza from the proper site as some other sites offer unofficial versions of Shareaza which have been tampered with.

This is a known issue with the v2.5 installer. Try one of the builds over here, as the issue has been fixed in their code: Shareaza - Debug Builds
(The Win32 release builds are those to take if you are not interested in additional testing and you don't have a 64 bit operating system.)
