it would be great if limewire could constantly be searching the wanted files even after it says "Need More Sources" Can we do anything like that now?

No & there's a reason for it. It's called traffic. If everybody had requerying files for all their files then the Gnutella network would slow to a crawl & then everybody would be complaining about that. See: Requeries (click on link)

Re-search the topic of the files that are incomplete. Also if they have a chat icon next to them, see if you can browse them or else, browse similar results in the search results. This can often find other people who have the same file & thus urge on the file to continue downlding. See: To continue files downlding (click on link)

* Also choose files to downld that have 3 or 4 stars & multiple users under the # column from the search results.
