I use a free tool called "The Proxomitron" on a Windows box. It runs under WINE on Linux too.
Blocks banners and anything else you desire too. ANYTHING! Scripts, ActiveX, any word, ANYTHING!
That's the kind of power this program offers!
Anonymizing proxies and lot's of other stuff too!
