Navigating through Gnutella My question pertains to Gnutella: How do you come back and monitor the posts you left in various threads? Surely there is an easier way to monitor them besides relying on one's memory? I have selected "email notification" in my preferences, but does that also pertain to existing threads that I have contributed my 2 cents? |
I don't know if there are other ways besides the 'suscribe to this thread' option, but note that there is a black dot on the icon in every thread you have posted in. Ivan In the dark we make a brighter light |

The most simple way to do what you want is to click on your own 'nick'... Do this anywhere you see your 'nick' (or anyone else's 'nick for their post 'history') except when the 'nick' appears IN a post... After you click on the 'nick' you will go to the 'user profile page' that is available for public viewing... There, on the upper right, click on "Search for all posts by this user"... Easy, hmmm ? |
Aha! Funny thing, but I think my memory just got MU-U-UCH better! Thanks for the... uh-hem... easy to follow instructions Ursula. (I'll write myself some tiny cheat notes and see if I can pass this IQ test.) :D |
Hi, B D... Forgot to mention another useful 'tip'... Well, after you have tried it, I'm sure you'll see how this little 'tip' could be useful for keeping track of threads you have visited and what other users have participated in a thread... Just click on the 'number' displayed in the Replies column. ;) Lots more things you can do in the forums as far as 'navigating'... Just try clicking on stuff... Anything that becomes 'highlighted' when you place the cursor on an 'object' is going to perform some 'function'. Experiment ! Go Wild ! |
