Shilene isn't the only person with this problem. I constantly have this problem and I don't have more than 3 downloads queued. Three different machines. All Win2K. Same issue. Machines range from a 800Mhz laptop with 256MB RAM to a 2.4GHz with 2GB RAM. All have all the latest patches installed.

Doesn't matter if the machine has just been rebooted or has been running for weaks.

Doesn't matter if other apps are running or not.

And the windows resource meter still says there's plenty of memory and the cpu isn't being used.

Even tried shutting down every non-essential service.

The issue is a xolox issue whether one likes to admit it or not.

Oh well, meanhile, there's always Limewire if you have a mac. Terrible shame. I like Xolox's download speeds.

Obviously there is something different because your have said that you have plently of extra resources. The problem that Shilene has been having is running out of reasources. Xolox does tend to use alot of resources when doing certian things, which can cause slowdown for some people. I have seen Xolox run fine of Win2K, so I do not belive it is a compatibility issue.

Default Frequent XoloX errors/Buffer overflow?

Hi (thanks for your hard work)
I am using XoloX version 1.32 build 388 on windows XP (512Meg RAM) and XoloX often quits with either the "out of resources" error or else the error reported by the post subject-ed

"XoloX gives me this long error and I dont know why, or how to fix it"

1. This happens sporadically, sometimes quickly, sometimes after hours. Doesn't seem to depend on whether other apps are running. And others will run fine even while XoloX is failing.

2. Does the "long error" suggest that someone is trying to take advantage of some buffer overflow in XoloX? This might have security implications.

Smile Re: Still runs out of resources quickly

All,

One quick and easy fix is clearing out your downloaded directory (move your downloaded file elsewhere). The "Out of resources" problem should go away.

I believe it is due to the imperfect design of Xolox. That's it.

Good luck!

Like most of the users using this Xolox P/p I have been very satisfied with its performance . . . unfortunatley lattest version 1.41 is a nightmare as it locks up within seconds of loging on.
My system is NT4 with service pack 6a with SCSI hardrive
Processor is Intel MMx 233
Mem 96
