Freezes when I click on the file button

I am running the 12-23-02 build on a Win98SE system with a 1 gig processor and 256 RAM. I used a router with no firewall on a family LAN. I run scandisk & defrag nightly.

I have been using Xolox since the 1.21 build.

The last two or three builds have created a problem which is very irritating. When I click on the "file" button, Xolox freezes and it doesn't "un-freeze" itself. I cannot shut it down without doing the ctrl-alt-del routine.

This does not happen every time but it is and has been a consistent problem for me during the last two or three builds. It occurs whether or not I am running other programs, whether Xolox has been running a half-hour or eight hours, whether I am actively downloading or not, whether the computer has been re-booted recently or not. In short, I don't see any pattern to identify what causes the freeze.

I did a search and didn't see any relevant posts or solutions.

Any ideas?

That is a proble that I have never herd of occuring, execpt in a general case (will happen in most programs) when your computer is running low on resources.

Thanks for the response, however, I don't think that's the case. As I said, it occurs even after a reboot (both soft & hard).

The only time I have had freezes like this occur with other programs in the last 6 months or so is when Xolox is running. I close Xolox and everything works fine. The only resource hog on my system is Xolox itself.

It may be specific to your computer. Occasionally a program may just not work right on a specific computer. There can be many reasons for this, and none of them easily solved or troubleshooted.
