Problem With Xolox and XP
 

Hi there,
I have a problem with the beta version of Xolox and was wondering if anyone else has had the same problem. When I install Xolox (version 1.18.2.88). It runs at at start up when windows starts. There seems to be no way to prevent from within the program from starting when windows starts. I disabled it in msconfig so it wont do it anymore. Also,I satrted the program and left it running and went out, when I came back windows had restarted and my zonealarm had lost all its settings and would not remember any of its rules....requiring me to grant permission to my browser etc every time I connect to the internet. Nothing showed up in the event viewer or in Dr Watson. Any ideas? BTW I know this is a beta version and will have bugs, I'm just curious if anyone has any ideas or suggestions.

Try to get the new build 104, perhaps they fixed it there.

Thx I'll have a look for it. Just to be certain...is build 104 newer than 1.18.2.88 ? If so what is its full version number?

1.18.2.104

Perhaps you can only get the version 1.18.2.103 but you can auto update the version then!

unwanted startup
 

I don't know bout your version, but mine has a disable run at startup feature!! soooo?? I disabled it!!

....And where would I find this elusive disable at start up feature? There's not too many places to look. I cant find it......am I ever going to feel like a schmuck if I've missed it. Hehe.
No luck with finding the newer build yet either...I'll keep looking.

Try re-installing.
 

When you install the Xolox 1.18 Beta 2 it gives you the option of unselecting the run at startup option.

Go to Start > Programs > "Startup". There should be a XoloX Icon there if you didn't unselect startup during installation. By removing it from 'startup' it won't load at every boot.
The 'startup' folder is a normal Windows folder.
