error message "you are not authorized to use this code"????? whenever I search for something... I get a message from Internet explorer (in a message tab) that says "you are not authorized to use this code" I have read the FAQ's and I can find NOTHING about this... what is it?!?!?!? |
I was just registering to report the same thing. Athlon XP 1800 EPoX 8 something with the VIA KT266A chipset LeadTec GeForce 2 256 MB Corsair RAM Win2K pro /fully updated -------------- I forgot to add that I uninstalled, deleted every XOLOX registry key, and installed 1.15, which didn't work. Then I uninstalled that and cleaned the registry. Then I reinstalled. Same message. |
"/!\ You are not authorized to use this code!" I get this message everytime I use the search. The program seems to work otherwise, and it executes the search - despite the error message. I've had Xolox V: 1.21 just 2 weeks now, and I didn't have any complaints so far, but this problem seems to have appeared from nowhere. Un- and Re-installing doesn't seem to help. Did anybody else have this problem, and how to get rid of it? |
Me Too Just got it for the first time about 5 minutes ago. But I now get it multiple times on each search I do. I'm very curious to know what's up. |
I am also seeing this same error. I believe it is related to either a pop up window or a banner ad within the Xolox window itself. Either way, this is new behavior even though I have had a clean install of versions 1.21 since its release and I have not changed anything about my configuration. As such, I suspect that this is some code in the HTML of the banners and/or popups that is trying to execute on my PC and is being prevented by the security settings within IE itself. Sounds malicious since IE's security is extremely weak. I am beginning to become distrustful of Xolox. The popups have increased to an annoying level. I also suspect the porn bombs and false downloads may be linked to Xolox since some of the sites they redirect you to are hosted by level3.net which apparently hosts Xolox. |
Well one popup went past the ad stage and opend up the download window prompting me to choose a name for the file it wanted to save on my harddrive. However, this is not necessarily something Xolox is responsible for. That's something their ad company is doing. If they continue to allow it past the point of consumer complaint, THEN it's their problem. But they are not writing the ads. |
Yea it was some f*cked up code on the banner .. it was fixed ASAP yesturday after someone reported the problem in Chat. |
