hello everyone ive just found out about this site and i like the look of it it seems alot easier than the donkey and alot quicker to>
My question is When i download a mp3 audio file it goes into my folder where it should but when i open it with windows media player i dont get no sound! whats all that about then? am i being a bit fick and done something wrong or is there magic words to make it work?

Have you tried playing the file with another audio player ? ( like www.Winamp.com , which is much better for audio anyway).

Also update your codecs with the Nimo Codec package here :

After installing that and you still can't play the mp3 with winamp or windows media player, the file may be corrupt.

Try downloading an mp3 that has many sources ( for example 10+) if possible and see if you still have the problem with that file.

There is also the chance that you downloaded a hoax file. I have encountered files in the past that did not play on any of the various players or I have and when opened in Sound Forge were found to have nothing in them. There have been files that were either just silence or loops or hiss pops etc.. Outwardly these files appear as you would expect in name and size but they are simply hoaxes.

Yup, that's what I stated :

Corrupt/and or hoax files are put out there often.

it looks to me they are hoax files cause ive managed to download a few good ones, i think i was just unlucky wiyh the first few that i downloaded, its the coldplay files i getting the problems with!
