Default can't listen at port 6346

I am having a problem connecting. I just got a new computer and am now running XP. Under '98 I never had a problem, but now all of a sudden I am getting a message that it "can't listen at port 6346". I am very computer illiterate, and haven't a clue as to what it is refering to, so any information will be greatly appreciated.

If your client cant listen on that port it means that the port is occupied by another program. If you have two clients running on the same port only one will work.

If you want to run more than one Gnutella servent at once you will have to make sure that the two programs are using different ports. To se the port Xolox uses:

'Tools' > 'preferences'

click on the 'network' tab

click on the 'advanced' button to reveal the force IP controls.

Fill out the boxes.

Note that this is probably no something you should be bothering with as a self proclaimed computer illirterate. I would recomend just simply using only one program at once.

Thanks for the input. I don't know what the problem was, but it is working just fine tonight. Go figure! And I didn't do anything different.
