Connection Problems I have Xolox 1.22 build 263 installed on a windows XP box. It never seems to connect - the "Connecting to the Gnutella network..." message stays in the lower levt of the status bar forever. I do have a firewall (hardware, not software) and I opened up port 6346. That did not fix it. Just for grins, I opened up all port between 6000 and 6500, still no joy. I downloaded the list of hosts, and still can't connect. (I rebooted things at every step, including the firewall). Any clues as to what I am missing? Thanks, Bryan |
Are your proxy settings correct? |
No proxy in use. |
Did it work with a previous version? If it did you may be able to becktrack. |
Gnutella network up? I too have same "connection" problem. I'm a newbie to P2P, just installed Limewire & Xolox 1.22 on an XP box. Limewire worked OK until sometime yesterday, then I tried Xolox, and it never connected. Tried same as this user, opening up ports, turning off firewall, downloading host list, rebooting, re-installing, no use. Can anyone currently (2:00 Eastern Sun 9/1/02) connect to Gnutella? |
I am having no trouble at all. However, because of all the problems that have started recently, I belive that there is something wrong with the latest version of Xolox. I'm sure that that is being worked on. Note, the Gnutella network is not down, as long as the internet still works Gnutella will work. (in my opinion it would be easier to take down the internet than take Gnutella on directly) |
can't connect still can't connect after logging in |
