All xfers stop around 95-97% All my downloads stop at around 95%. i will have 50-80 hosts queued, none or one busy, and status goes back and forth from queued to connecting. If it does reconnect, it will finish to 100%, then display the part dropped due to... and go back to 95% it works great up until that point around 95-97% it appears that as it approaches completion, all the parts except one are finishing, and then that last part will not download, and the program will not use a different host to download that part. if anyone can help i'd appreciate it. just dl'ed the latest version, and that's when this began... it also appears that others are complaining about this same problem, so it's not just me. This is something that happens when there are alot of hosts with the file you are downloading. Slight changes in each copy tend to build up near the end of a file (especially for mp3 because poeple like to add/subtract data from the 1d3 tags alot). If Xolox downloads a file segment that does not exactly match what it already has (Xolox staggers the segments) it will drop that segment and try a different host. You can turn this off in the prefenences. For media content this is less of an issue, as the file is likely to play anyway (might be a slight blip of something of that sort), but for zips and programs any abnomality can ruin the file. |
I have the same problem. After working great for a few days all downloads now end at 97%. I tried the fix you suggested but the result is that , while files now download, none of them work. Too bad, I like the program but can't use it. |
It would not work regardless of the program you downloaded it with. If there is a error in sending the file, or different people have slightly different versions, then it will not work. The packet dropping is designed as a method of working around such issues, so you are not going to download a bad file when the original works. |
