Files languishing in transfer list --Redux (This is a resubmission of a post from 4/12.) I have approximately 200 files in my Download Transfer list. Most of these files had scores of 1 or 2 when selected for download. Xolox has been searching for these files for at least two months. What is the probability of any of these files being successfully downloaded? I seem to remember that several months ago when I upgraded to a newer build I had a rash of successful downloads of files that had been in the transfer list 5-6 weeks. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Windows XP Pro 2.2 MHz Pentium 4 40 GB Hard Drive 512 Cache Xolox version 1.56 build 760 |
I asked a similar question earlier and the response was basically delete them all from the transfer list, because it is unlikely that they will ever show up. The large number of file searches consumes resources on your computer and eats up bandwidth. I wish I had better news, but I am in the same boat as you. I've used Xolox for almost a year now, and I notice that each new version seems to decrease the success of actually downloading a file. Maybe its just the Gnutella network, or other file sharing programs behaving badly. I seem to get hits when I search for files, but come up empty when trying to download them.:( |
slewis_taco -- I pretty much assumed that would be the answer. I was hoping that it was possible to get a burst of successful downloads with a new build, or for whatever reason. Wishful thinking, I suppose -- I spent (wasted) a lot of time creating that list. My questions now are, 1) How long should files remain in the transfer list, and 2) What is the maximum number of files that should be in this list? Regarding your comments -- my sentiments mirror yours exaxtly. Thanks anyway, my friend. |
