OK I'm new to this but am I missing somthing?

-----------------------------------------------------------
Work around:
Totally close XoloX (also in the taskbar).
Download this attachment and place it in your xolox directory.
Restart the application.
------------------------------------------------------------

Where do I get the attachmenet to a message posted on a board?

Also it worked first time so what has changed since then?

You find it in your Xolox directory/folder (more details here).

Hope it helps, Moak

Finding files and downloading them are 2 seperate things.
When a file is found it indicates that a file is hosted on another machine. However, that machine may be busy providing other clients and may have no slots available for your request.
Always take a look at the score.
The higher the number, the more clients the requested file have, making the change of a fast download (start) higher.
XoloX uses download of multiple hosts, so a higher score can also mean a significant faster download speed.
When however you download stays at 0%, have patience, it may start whenever a host comes available, XoloX will keep checking the hosts for availability.

Default A Fairly New Users View

Just wanted to add my few pence worth for all the newbies (I'm just above that now I think) that Xolox works like a charm.

Once a file has been selected for download you can forget all about it as Xolox will start or resume (as the case may be) a file as soon as it becomes available from the host.

The higher the score the better the chance of a download, you just need to be patient sometimes.

To everyone involved in Xolox... WELL DONE.. a great program, I use it every time now.

Default Still problems?

Hi, for some new users it might be too difficult to download a fresh hostslist, so lets try this:

Start Xolox and go into Menu -> Tools -> Preferences
Then enter 'Gnutellahost': public.bearshare.net
'port' goes into next input box: 6436

Click "Add ", you'll see a message "New host added", close the preferences and wait a minute. Does it help? You can do this whenever you have a connect error.

PS: here are more hosts caches. Enter name and port as above, do not enter the ':' (it's only a seperator):

connect1.gnutellanet.com:6346
connect2.gnutellanet.com:6346
connect3.gnutellanet.com:6346
connect4.gnutellanet.com:6346
gnutella.hostscache.com:6346
gnotella.fileflash.com:6346
router.limewire.com:6346
gnutella.hostscache.com:6346
gnet2.ath.cx:6346

PS: some more links
