![]() So it seems a lot of people (including me) have trouble with certain files downloading partway and then finding fewer and fewer hosts to pull it from until finally the transfer stops and does not resume. One possibility seems to be that the repeated querying and demand that Xolox is making upon other servents has resulted in a sort of anti-Xolox reaction, a refusal to accept further search and download requests beyond some reasonable point. I would not be at all surprised, particularly with the new release of BearShare, that the software is even now designed to automatically refuse Xolox connections. Vinnie has been outspoken in his opposition to Xolox tactics, and he may have put some teeth into this. Is this happening or is it just a pure coincidence. In fact, didn't the problem with hostslists.txt begin to be serious at the same time the new BearShare came out? |
