Stuck at 99%? When I try to download large movies (600-800MBs), the downloads stop at 99%, and never resume. Do I not have enough free space left on my harddrive or something? When one was at 99%, I had almost 500MBs free. Is this not enough or something? |
I wrote here in another thread... >>>I read somewhere that for XoloX to work properly you need double the space.... could this be the problem? I also had a couple big files hang at 99% for a long time but eventually I got em.<<< doing some reasearch I think what is happening is at around 99-100% XoloX stop's the download momentarly(especially with big files) thus bumping your posistion in a cue, so if the file your downloading is in high demand you might be waiting awhile for the last % ;) on one rare occasion I had to scrap the job-segments,cancel the download and start over. but xolox gave a error message. |
how does segment downloading work? How does this segmented downloading thing work??? If each segment is downloaded off ONE source, that would explain maybe why it's really slow for the last 1 percent sometimes cause it's downloading the last chunk from just one place. Is this how Xolox does it?? Just wondering. |
yep That's the reason. It could even happen that the download stops and another host needs to be searched to get the remaining partial. See also this thread " droping speed at the end of downloads" from ali_kaba: http://gnutellaforums.com/showthread...&threadid=3875 |
