I'm not talking about a few %

I'm talking about going from 98% to 20% in a 700mb file!

I can understand going back a few percent, but not 80% of the downloaded file... there was another post that someone asked the same question, but no one answered it...

is this what you are talking about mvoosten???

is that the error checking??? it doesn't seem like it would drop this much from the download.
thnx

hmm...

Look in your registry un HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xolox and see if "dropincorrectsegments" = "0" or doens't exist. In the preferences this is "Drop and retry incorrect segments" but I don't know if the registry keys are created if you haven' t been to your preference tabs.

If you are on broadband and are downloading from a fast host, it's concevable that you may get a large amount of the file in one chunk, then XoloX goes to put the peices together and they don't match up... When "dropincorrectsegments" = "1" I think XoloX does the check after the fisrt 2K has been downloaded to see if it can be synched with the prior segment.

Register and you can edit your posts. ;) Anyway, it should be set to 1 I think. I don't know why it would drop so much of a file though if that's what it's set to... perhaps a dumb question, but what version of XoloX are you running?

Unregistered September 26th, 2001 09:40 AM

its version 1.12 i dunno whats goin on

but something isn't right!
