I'm not talking about a few % I'm talking about going from 98% to 20% in a 700mb file! I can understand going back a few percent, but not 80% of the downloaded file... there was another post that someone asked the same question, but no one answered it... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...?threadid=3667 is this what you are talking about mvoosten??? is that the error checking??? it doesn't seem like it would drop this much from the download. thnx |
mvoosten, didn't want to hurry :) |
hmm... Look in your registry un HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Xolox and see if "dropincorrectsegments" = "0" or doens't exist. In the preferences this is "Drop and retry incorrect segments" but I don't know if the registry keys are created if you haven' t been to your preference tabs. If you are on broadband and are downloading from a fast host, it's concevable that you may get a large amount of the file in one chunk, then XoloX goes to put the peices together and they don't match up... When "dropincorrectsegments" = "1" I think XoloX does the check after the fisrt 2K has been downloaded to see if it can be synched with the prior segment. |
just looked... and dropincorrectsegments="0" which should it be? 1 or 0? thnx |
wait... no its 1 my bad... its 1, should it be 0? |
register Register and you can edit your posts. ;) Anyway, it should be set to 1 I think. I don't know why it would drop so much of a file though if that's what it's set to... perhaps a dumb question, but what version of XoloX are you running? |
its version 1.12 i dunno whats goin on but something isn't right! |
