![]() Just installed xolox on a Windows XP Pro system. It seems to do OK. Better than it does on a Windows 98se system. BUT, I did notice one little thing during the first few minutes of testing it. The part of the Menu Bar that says "Next Generation File Sharing" is way to far to the right and doesn't show up on WinXP's default windows skin. (The screen rez is 1024x768.) Also, the info text box on the bottom of the screen that pops up now and then sometimes has garbled text in it. It looks kinda like the letters are all pushed together. That could be due to a wrong setting in windows somewhere which I havn't figured out how to change yet. I'll let you know what error messages I get, if any. (If WinXP even does that, I have no idea.) |

![]() It's been a while since I was running XP beta 2 but I know by default that instead of showing an error, the program that caused it, registers, and a stack dump on a pretty blue screen... it just reboots. It may log the incident by default but I don't remember exactly where. Either in the "My Computer" properties, or start ->run -> MSConfig (I think) you will see option somewhere to change how BSOD's are reported. You can tell it not to reboot so you can look at the information, and tell it to use one of three reporting methods, one I think is 64K dump, one is active memory dump, and the other is total RAM dump. (for when your data is THAT important... not recommended) In any case, check out your event log directly after a reboot and see if it logged the error. To say it crashed with no other clues but "Running XP and it's crashing while I'm out"makes things difficult, especially if devs or testers don't have XP themselves :P |

![]() Don't know exactly why as I haven't had a chance to test anything on it yet but yes, this happened a lot on the xp beta version - we have a machine running xp final now and it appears stable with xolox on it - well let's put it this way I am back in the office now and I have no reports about it falling over with the full version. xolox has been really hammered here - lol - looks like everyone in our little joint has been having a music fest:-) Sheeeeesh - I got a lot of disk clean ups to do before my boss sees all this lot Peace, Jude |

![]() I'm using XP. Everything was fine. I was using xolox like a half hour ago. But something weird happened. I tried running it, and all of a sudden, it gets really slow. Then I goto the task manager and reports that xolox.exe is taking like 11 MB of ram and my CPU is using all 100% of it's power. I just have to close it. I tried restarting. No luck. Any advice? |

![]() I'm running XP rc2-fr for some weeks with xolox running on it constantly and have not experienced any problems or bug with it. Thus sometimes you can notice a big use of your ressources (I already experienced it under w2k) it seems to come from the rebuilding of the shared documents index... |
