Default File called 'templist.txt'

What is this file that appears in my C: root after installing Xolox? What does it do? I don't like it....

Default me too

Good catch. It looks similar to the one in the program directory. I suspect that XoloX isn't always writing it to the proper location.

It appears to me that the purpose of the templist.txt file is to manage temporary downloads. It seems to store the information on how to reassemble the download file from all the temporary (incomplete) downloaded file fragments. For example, if you download a file, get 50% of it and then have to continue downloading it later for whatever reason, Xolox needs to know which temp file to append the resumed download data to. It sure beats having to start from scratch!

Now why there is one templist.txt file in the root of C:\ and another one in the XoloX directory under Program Files is beyond me, especially when they contain different download data. I personally would leave it alone. If you trash it, you'll probably have to start the downloads that it was manging all over from scratch at the very least, if they weren't already completed.

But here's what else is odd- I have tons of incomplete files (probably over three-hundred) and I don't see a listing of all of them in both templist.txt files. Maybe Xolox needs the templist.txt files to get started initially, but then once it builds its own internal database it doesn't need them anymore. I'm just speculating here, don't mind me...
