Freeze On Set-up I cannot run Xolox. It seems to install just fine. But on the first use, when it prompts for the agreement and searches for system settings, the program freezes. I am assuming that the bar on the bottom of the screen is a progress bar, but it does't increase at all. Apparently, the program is doing something because my hard drive goes crazy. Eventually, I'll end task the program and my hard drive settles down and my system is seemingly unaffected. Basically, as soon as it gets to the "Finding system settngs" screen, it shows up in the Task Manager as Not Responing. It keeps my CPU Usage at about 20% while it is not responding. I am running Win2K(FE) with a TB1400 and 512 MB Micron OC-2 ram on the Abit KT7A(non-RAID) board with the lovely Via chipset.
Here's what I have done to troubleshoot this problem. First, I merely tried uninstalling/reinstaling. No dice. So I redownloaded the file and reinstalled. Nada. So I disabled all my TSRs. Zilch. I have downloaded 3 of the 4 program files (cannot access the FTP site) and tried installing them with nothing running in the background with no success. I also referred 2 others to the sire to download the file and they are currently usingf the program to its fullest potential; one using Win98SE and the other using WinME.
Anybody got any ideas? I have a feeling I am just SOL because I cannot for the of me think of anything else I could possibly do. |
